The Fire Hero
Volatile, cynical and constantly grumpy, Rubicante finds it difficult to connect to others and often prefers solitude. Only a select few can get past his barriers, but it still takes a lot of time to get Rubicante to bare his full soul. He takes his duties incredibly seriously, and strives to do what is right, and in his mind, there is no time for regret or emotion. At least not whilst he's distracting himself with other things.

Rubicante has never found life particularly kind or appealing. Ever since he turned up in a basket on Ashihara Village's doorstep with no parents to speak of, he's felt like an outsider. All but a select few animals treated him as something they'd rather not think about, including his adoptive mother and older foster brother Tarquin. The only comfort Rubicante could find was in his adoptive father Timothy, his other foster brother Toro, and later Sophie and Kate.

That was, until Timothy's fatal accident. That day, something changed inside Rubicante. The world had never showed him any kindness, so what was the point in trying to be kind to the world? To this day, he only opens up to those few that have always loved him - the rest get the cold, angry loner side.
